At Alpha Wealth Foundation (AWF), our goal is simple: to help Utah arts organizations build the capacity and sustainability they need to thrive. We do this through a mix of education, consultation, connection, and—when appropriate—funding.

If you’re wondering whether AWF might be a fit for your organization, this guide walks through what it looks like to engage with us, from a first conversation to deeper collaboration.

Step 1: Schedule a Free Introductory Meeting

The best place to start is a free introductory meeting with our Managing Director.

This conversation is designed to be low-pressure and genuinely helpful. During the meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Introduce your arts organization and share your current goals or challenges

  • Learn more about Alpha Wealth Foundation’s focus and approach

  • Gain access to our upcoming free resource packet

  • Receive any quick insights, ideas, or referrals we can offer based on your needs

This meeting is not an application—it’s a chance to connect, learn, and see whether working together makes sense.
(You’ll find the scheduler link on our website.)

Step 2: Organizational Fit & Vetting

After the initial meeting, organizations may be vetted to determine whether they align with AWF’s current focus.

At this time, Alpha Wealth Foundation is prioritizing:

  • Small to medium-sized dance organizations

  • Based in Utah

This focus allows us to offer deeper, more meaningful support rather than spreading our capacity too thin. Organizations outside this focus are still welcome to meet with us, access resources, and submit proposals, but priority consideration is given to those within our current scope.

Step 3: Deeper Engagement Through Portfolio Support

At any given time, the Managing Director works closely with a small portfolio of 5–8 organizations.

Organizations selected for this level of engagement receive hands-on support that may look like:

  • Acting as a temporary board member or strategic partner

  • Conducting targeted research or consulting on specific projects

  • Helping connect organizations with professional service providers

  • Assisting with planning or organizing events

  • Supporting internal systems, sustainability planning, or governance work

This structure allows AWF to meet organizations where they are and provide practical, customized assistance rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.

Step 4: Submitting a Proposal for Support or Funding

Organizations at any point in the process—whether after an introductory meeting or during deeper engagement—may submit a proposal for Alpha Wealth Foundation to review.

We intentionally do not require a formal application or online form.

Proposals may be submitted in the format that works best for your organization. This might include:

  • A written document (such as a PDF or Word file)

  • An online presentation or slide deck

  • Another clear, accessible format that allows you to communicate your needs and goals

Rather than focusing on rigid formatting, we care most about understanding:

  • What kind of support or funding you are seeking

  • The challenge or opportunity you are addressing

  • How this request contributes to your organization’s sustainability and long-term impact

  • Your annual budget and the specific budget of the project/goal you are proposing

Proposals are reviewed once per month, and organizations can expect a response within six weeks of submission.

How Funding & Support Decisions Are Made

Alpha Wealth Foundation gives priority to organizations that:

  • Fit our current focus criteria

  • Demonstrate or are actively working toward strong sustainability practices

Many of these practices—such as financial planning, governance health, audience development, and operational clarity—are outlined in our free resource packet, which will be released soon and shared with organizations engaging with AWF.

Our aim is not just to fund work, but to invest in structures that help organizations endure.
